Questions answered within Supplywise Podcast Episode 64: HOLEPLUG: A Baroid Bentonite Sealant

What kind of applications is Holeplug used for?

  • It is used in water well drilling. It is used in other drilling as well, but mostly for sealing off zones. It 's a bentonite product, so it will seall areas  off areas in a water well.

How does HOLEPLUG (betonite) help with drilling?

  • When someone gets in a column of drilling, they might get a zone that produces water they do not want. In this case, they can use betonite to seal that zone off to get the water they do want. (HOLEPLUG - supplied by mountainlandsupply.com) is a perfect product in this case.)

Why use the betonite chip instead of concrete?

  • For the driller, it is going to be a lot easier to pick up a pallet of HOLEPLUG (from mountainlandsupply.com) rather than scheduling a cement truck to come in to pour concrete down the well. The surface seal has to be so many feet deep in the well, and they can use the betonite product for the majority of that, and still use a concrete cap on top of that. It is all something they can do themsekves rather than having to waiting on a cement truck or crew to put all concrete in. Saving time, money, and help grow your business.
